Best stewards picked up awards

On 23 December a significant pre-Christmas event took place in the Conference Room of the Donbass Arena – it was the recognition of the best stewards at the stadium. Regardless of the weather and the late working hours, the young ladies and gentlemen proudly perform their duties at every home match played by FC Shakhtar. And those duties are quite numerous: from giving a supporter simple directions for reaching their seat in a stand to providing first medical aid.
When opening the festive meeting Natal’ya Ivanenko, the Co-ordinator of Stewards, thanked the young people for their diligence, competent emergency actions, as well as for their devotion to duty and dedication to the Donbass Arena. Well, things do happen. But that’s more due to lack of experience rather than because of unwillingness to perform the duties in a professional and responsible manner. By the way, the chief of the stewards spoke the words of praise more than once, because even our spacious Conference Room was not big enough to accommodate all the people who had taken part in ensuring public order at the arena in one go. That is why the event was split into two parts. The official ceremony was preceded by a short film about ‘hard everyday work life’ of stewards masterfully mixed with a great deprecating sense of humour.
The nominees were awarded in several categories. Thus, they have awarded the most professional stewards, the successful novices, and those who were involved in all the events of this year without exception.
The young people were leaving the Conference Room high-spirited. Such encouragement will become traditional following the results of each football season.
